Using the Barcographics 800 Projector How do I turn it on and off? Differences in room conditions make for different instructions. For 1-115 Your first step is to turn on the projector wall switch. It's located near the entrance of 1-115, and is labeled "Projector". Second, adjust the light level. There is a panel by the exit door that gives you the following lighting options: 2 - which is all lights (fluorescents, all spots) 3 - which is all spots, no fluorescents 4 - a subset of spots The remote will only operate at setting 3 or 4, as the warm fluorescent lighting interferes with the infrared sensor on the projector. Use the remote control unit. It's stored in the tray of the instructor's workstation in 1-115. Aim the remote at the black dot between the second and third light tube on the front of the projector, and press the 5 button. It takes about 10 minutes for the image to reach peak clarity, so it's a good idea to turn on the projector at the start of class, or, if possible, a few minutes before you begin your class. The back of the projector also has an infrared sensor. It is located directly to the left of the power light, which toggles to red when on standby and green when projecting an image. Aim the remote at the sensor on the back of the projector and press the appropriate button. It still doesn't work! What now? If you still cannot get the projector to respond, send mail to eclass immediately and a member of ACS staff will respond as soon as possible. Additionally, if the picture seems soft or unfocused, please send mail to eclass and we will make a trip over to adjust the convergence. One Last Thing... Please remember to turn off the projector when you leave and to return the remote to its home in the keyboard tray of the instructor's workstation. Thank you for your cooperation.
