Institute Events is part of the Office of the Vice President and Secretary of the Corporation and comprises visitor information, Commencement, Conference Services, Community Services, and several lecture series.
The MIT community celebrated the presidential inauguration of L. Rafael Reif in September 2012 with four days of festivities organized by the Inaugural Planning Committee and produced by Institute Events. Our office also was responsible for execution of MIT's sesquicentennial celebration—watch video and learn more about the Institute's first 150 years at the MIT150 website.
In addition to overseeing special visits and events on behalf of MIT's senior officers, Institute Events is a resource to other offices and departments on event planning and issues of protocol.
