For non-MIT planners
Why plan your next meeting at MIT?
- Successful event management since 1978
MIT offers functional meeting spaces of varying styles and capacities, as well as an extensive network of internal auxiliary service providers who have been supporting events of all levels for nearly 35 years. This network of professionals is at your disposal through MIT Conference Services, a one-stop shop that is staffed by experienced professional event planners.
- Location, location, location!
MIT is recognized as one of the most outstanding universities in the world today. Conveniently nestled between Boston's vibrant Back Bay and the culturally rich "Squares" of Cambridge, our campus continues to be an attractive and much sought-after destination for visitors from all over the globe.
How do you host a meeting at MIT?
Outside organizations or professional societies are welcome to hold conferences on our campus, provided they meet the following requirements:
- The nature of the event must be consistent with the mission of MIT.
- A current MIT faculty or staff member, with the approval of their department head, must agree to serve as the group sponsor. The sponsor will be responsible for maintaining a connection between the outside group and the Conference Services Office throughout the planning and implementation stages of the event. It is the responsibility of the sponsor to assure that the visiting organization, its members, and the program, adhere to the generally accepted academic and communal standards of MIT. The sponsor is also financially liable for the program in the event that the outside organization is delinquent in this regard.
Please contact us if you have questions about sponsorship or about the feasibility of hosting your program at MIT, given the general guidelines listed above. If you prefer, you may complete the online request for information form. We look forward to talking with you.
