MIT welcomes official delegations and professional international visitors, whose visits are managed through the office of the Senior Director for Institute Events and Protocol and in consultation with the Director of International Affairs. Connections may be made through embassies, US Department of State International Visitor Leadership Programs, direct contact, and MIT referrals. To expedite the process, we ask that you complete an official visit request form at least two weeks prior to your visit. You may email specific questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that there are certain periods during the year when the availability of MIT’s faculty and staff members is limited due to the academic schedule. For this reason, it is highly unlikely that we will be able to accommodate professional group visits on legal US and Massachusetts holidays and from mid-May to the end of August or during the last few weeks of December.
MIT departments, labs, and centers hosting international visitors are invited to contact us directly for advice on matters of protocol, logistics, security, and translation referrals.
