Ice and frost preventive device for windshields
The Sidwell Friends School InvenTeam wants to invent and produce a device that will stop ice formation on car windshields. This device will work by producing a mechanical oscillation on the windshield that will vibrate it just enough to stop ice from sticking to the glass. A similar device is already used in some cameras to stop small specks of dust from sticking to the lenses and mirrors in the camera. The device will be small enough to mount on the windshield—about the size of the rear view mirror. It will eventually run on 12 V power from the battery of the car and will be on a timer so that it runs intermittently to conserve battery power.
