Robotic coconut tree climbing device
The Troy High School InvenTeam will invent a remote controlled coconut tree-climbing device that will ascend a tree 100 feet tall, 12-18 inch diameter at a minimum speed of 33 feet per minute. The device will provide a single user interface for the coconut harvesters living in regions such as Indonesia, the Philippines, and India and will include a stable platform for future robotic attachments for tasks such as coconut harvesting, pesticide spraying, and pruning. The cost of the final prototype will be approximately $2,900.
