Providence Day School
Pedal powered classroom desk generator system
The Providence Day School InvenTeam is inventing a connected set of classroom desks (two rows by three columns) to produce energy for buildings that lack electricity in developing areas. Students sitting at their desks will operate pedals with their heels that will spin a wheel, turn a generator, and create accessible energy that can be used to power lights or other electrical units found in a classroom. Each desk and set of desks will be constructed for easy assembling and disassembling for convenient transportation.
