Departmental Consulting and Application Development (DCAD)

Mission
The Departmental Consulting and Application Development (DCAD) Team assists MIT Departments, Labs, Centers and Programs in all aspects of their departmental website and database projects. We have an experienced team of Web and Database Consultants to define projects plus experienced MIT developers to deliver projects to MIT DLCs.

DCAD provides assistance and services to members of the MIT Community. The team offers a wide array services including needs analysis, design, development and project management. Some services are at no cost and some have a fee associated with them. We facilitate the use of internal and external service providers including other IS&T services such as the ATIC lab. The DCAD team maintains the Web Publishing Reference pages which provide guidelines and resources for MIT web publishers. We also maintain the FileMaker and Departmental Database Application site. This site contains FileMaker database guidelines and resources.

Services Offered

• Web Communications Services - for help with web site information architecture, design, development, project management, and maintenance.
• Database Development Services - for help with departmental database design, development and web application development.
• Usability Services - for usability evaluations of web sites, web applications, and software.
