Information Systems staff have geared up to give several IAP presentations that focus on computers. The seminars highlighed below are open to a general audience and require no preregistration. They are listed in chronological order.

Practical UNIX Security

A Virtual Tour of MITnet

Find out what goes on behind the scenes as you send and retrieve email or browse the World Wide Web. This presentation goes over the basics of computer networking, paying close attention to the network technologies and services in use on MITnet.

Dr Solomon's Anti-Virus Toolkit

Computer viruses are a continuing problem on campus. Learn how to protect yourself from this threat by using Dr Solomon's Anti-Virus Toolkit (for Macintoshes and PCs). ECAT2 ­ The Latest in Electronic Purchasing

There will be a demo of the MCC-Online/NECX catalog for buying hardware and software and a review of policies and procedures.
