IS Training Services Offers Several New Courses This
Fall
IS Training Services has added new computer courses in
three topic areas:
Macintosh OS 8. This three-hour hands-on course
(offered November 10) is intended for those coming from a
Windows environment or upgrading from earlier versions of
the Macintosh operating system. Topics include file
management, customizing the desktop, shortcuts, system
maintenance, and Personal Web Sharing.
Photoshop 5. Photoshop 5 Basics is a two-day course
(November 16‚17), covering the capture, enhancement, and
publication of black-and-white and color photographs. The
half-day Photoshop 5 Update course (November 30) focuses on
new features, including the History palette and brush,
easy-to-edit type, automatic effects, and enhanced
image-editing tools.
Year 2000. The Y2K team is offering a noontime
seminar and hands-on course to help you prepare your
computer for the next millennium. The seminar (October 27
and December 4) outlines how to locate potential problems
and how to approach upgrading your hardware and software.
The hands-on course (November 4) focuses on known software
problems and solutions, and includes actual practice
updating the systems on the classroom computers.
