Surf Sites: Learning Foreign Languages

Berliner sehen uses a combination of DVD-ROMs and materials on servers to help students study German language and culture interactively (see lead article). But you don't need to be in a lab or classroom to start learning another language.

There are many foreign language resources on the Web. Some even feature audio clips to help with pronunciation. While many Web sites deal with specific languages, the ones listed below were selected because of their multilingual approach. They include courses, dictionaries, translators, news sources, and more.
