The annual International Fair is the biggest event organized by the International Students Association (ISA). Popularly known as I-Fair, it takes place every Spring, towards the end of April. This year, I-Fair is scheduled for Friday, April 23, 2004.
What happens in I-Fair, is that most International Clubs of the MIT community get the chance to present a little piece of their culture, something to show their country, habits, and traditions. The ISA provides a table for every club to hold a booth where they can show pictures, give maps and guides, play music, sell or give away food. A Fashion show is also scheduled, where many countries present traditional costumes. Some countries and clubs also prepare certain performances, such as a dance, music, sword-fighting etc.
I-Fair is the most colorful event of the Spring at MIT, where people from more than a hundred countries participate, where more than 40 International Clubs hold a booth, dance, or participate in the fashion show, and where the entire MIT community can feel that I-Fair is truly:
