The
Iranian Studies Group welcomes interested
individuals to join our group and enjoy
doing interesting research on issues
related to larger Iranian community in a
collaborative and friendly environment.
Our team members are not necessarily from
MIT and also not necessarily living in the
Boston area.
ISG
activities include 3 main parts:
-
Research projects
-
Lecture series
-
Iran Analysis Quarterly journal (IAQ)
We
have an executive board which is in charge
of the administrative activities and most
of the issues related to Iran Analysis
Quarterly journal and lecture series, and
research associates who work on different
research projects. To join the executive
board one needs to have some track record
of working with projects and be in Boston
area.
Therefore
the best way to get involved is to join in
one of the research projects, or to start
one you are interested in yourself. You
can see a list of current projects (both
active and inactive) at: http://web.mit.edu/isg/research.htm
If
you are in Boston area and are more
interested in setting up lectures, or
doing publicity work, we can find
collaboration opportunities in those areas
as well. In this case, it is a good idea
to come to one of our executive board
meetings to get a feel for what we do, how
we work, and what are the issues we care
about. Then you can decide where you fit
best and what type of activity you like to
join into. If you are not in the local
area, decide if any of the current
projects are of interest to you, or
articulate any new research project you
want to start, and send us your thoughts
To
contact the ISG Executive Board Email
us with some information on your
background and why you would be interested
in working with us.
