Challenge 4: Autonomous Aerial Resupply:

Develop an Unmanned Aerial System for cargo that reduces demand and automate Soldier tasks and to provide a capability to execute responsive sustainment to widely dispersed units when weather, terrain, and enemy actions pose unsuitable risk to manned air and ground assets.

The potential benefits this capability may provide include reduced Soldier exposure to risk, reduced ground distribution requirements, extended operational reach, increased delivery frequency to widely dispersed forces, decreased customer wait time through point-to-point delivery, and increased operational readiness.

Potential technology solution candidates include:

(1) Autonomous Technologies for Unmanned Aerial Systems (>4,500 lbs capacity)
(2) Unmanned drone delivery systems (<4,500 lbs capacity)
