About i/s

i/s is a bimonthly publication from MIT Information Systems (IS). The newsletter focuses on issues related to computing on the MIT campus, and includes information about IS services.

Formats

The paper version of the newsletter is produced on a Power Macintosh G4 using Adobe InDesign 2. It is printed on recycled paper using soy inks, and can be recycled in MIT's "white-paper only" bins.

On the Web, i/s is available in an Acrobat (PDF) version or as text-only articles. The PDF version is created using Adobe Acrobat 5. The text-only version is produced with Macromedia Dreamweaver 4. Both online versions include active hypertext links.

The Acrobat version is fully formatted with graphics, just like the paper version, and can be printed on any PostScript printer. To open the Acrobat version of i/s, you need to install the free Acrobat Reader. The text-only version can be read directly in your Web browser, but does not include graphics.

Other News Sources

i/s NewsLink is an online companion to the bimonthly i/s newsletter. It provides frequently updated technology news and related links, as well as computing-related items that may affect the MIT community (e.g., virus alerts).
