IS&T Spotlight:

Try Out the Beta Version of MIT Mobile Web

Andrew Yu

Information Services and Technology (IS&T) has released a beta version of the MIT Mobile Web, designed to provide mobile device users in the MIT community with convenient, fast access to useful information. The beta version provides links to the MIT People Directory, Campus Map, Shuttle Schedule, Events Calendar, Stellar, Emergency Information, and 3DOWN (Services Status).

You can access this site from any cell phone with mobile browsing capability (feature phones) or any mobile device with a web browser (smartphones, including Apple iPhone, Windows Mobile, Palm OS, and Blackberry devices). To access the site from your mobile phone, enter this URL: m.mit.edu.

In June, IS&T will officially launch the MIT Mobile Web service with offerings that will evolve and grow over time. Feedback is welcome: send your comments to mobiweb@mit.edu.
