IS&T Spotlight:
Clinics on Configuring PalmOS Mobile Devices
Did you know that a properly configured mobile device
lets you connect to MIT’s email services on the go? PalmOS
devices with built-in wireless connections like the Tungsten C,
or add-on
wireless options like the Tungsten T3/5 or the Zire 72 let you
access your mail on campus or wherever you can connect to wireless.
Cell phone/PDA devices like the Treo let you roam even
further
afield.
IS&T is offering a clinic to help you configure your PalmOS
mobile devices for MIT email. It will be held in the N42 Demo
Center from 2 to 3:30 pm on the following dates:
Thursday, February 10
Monday, February 14
Friday, February 18
Thursday, February 24
Monday, February 28
In addition, on the same day as the first clinic – February
10 – IS&T is turning N42 into a “cell phone shopping
mall,” with representatives from MIT cell phone vendors who
provide cell phone/PDAs that run on the PalmOS. These representatives
will be available to discuss anything related to cell phones, not
just cell phone/PDA combinations. Here’s the schedule:
Cingular: N42-059, 11:00am to 1pm
Sprint: N42-285, 11:00am to 1pm
T-Mobile: N42-203, 11:30am to 1:30pm
Verizon Wireless: N42-202, 11:30am to 1:30pm
