MIT's Web Site Experiencing Intermittent Outages
Early on Wednesday, February 8 Information Services and Technology (IS&T) noticed that the MIT web site at http://web.mit.edu and http://www.mit.edu was unavailable. This was immediately reported to the MIT community via "3Down," the reporting page for all IT problems, which is on a separate server not affected by the problem. Access to the web site was initially restored but there have been subsequent intermittent outages that have been difficult to restore. IS&T staff are working to better understand the problem and to ensure a permanent resolution. Information will be posted on 3Down at as it becomes available. IS&T is also sending a broadcast email to several segments of the community notifying them of the situation.
