IS&T's Project Management Methodology
Overview
As the technology landscape at MIT has become increasingly complex,
control and management of the various project initiatives have necessitated
the creation and implementation of a standard project management
methodology.
The IS&T Project Management Methodology was developed by leveraging
methodologies adopted by leading universities and technology organizations
as well as global best practices.
This Project Methodology project is focused on two areas: the definition
and deployment of a standard and repeatable project management process
across IS&T, and development of a project management competency
model that can be used to develop project managers.

Coaching and Mentoring
Sessions
The project management methodology team is available to provide
on-request coaching and mentoring to all IS&T managed projects. In
addition to one-on-one project coaching, the team will coordinate
periodic brown bag presentations on topics of interest (e.g., Project
Planning Tips, Risk Mitigation Strategies, Sponsor Engagement, etc.).
Finally, the team is available for on-request presentations on project
management topics of interest. All requests for coaching, mentoring,
and presentations should be sent to ist-pmm@mit.edu.
Note: You will need Microsoft
PowerPoint or Adobe
Reader to view presentations.
