While these special licenses can make it easier for you to obtain many popular applications, be aware that volume license software will often have unique requirements and/or restrictions. MIT certificates may be required in order to access some areas of this site, and some products may be supported only through IS&T Help Desks or directly from the manufacturer.

SPSS Now Available through VSLS
IS&T has negotiated an SPSS for Windows license on behalf of MIT to simplify the process for departments licensing SPSS as well as to save MIT money. Annual SPSS licenses, which include Base, Advanced, Regression, Tables, Trends and Categories, are available to MIT faculty and staff as either an individual license at $300/license or as a department wide license at $6,000/DLC. For more information, follow the SPSS link in the Specialize Academic, Engineering and Research Software section.

3/10/2008:
Matlab R2008a released by Mathworks
Mathworks has released Matlab R2008a and in the process completely transformed the licensing procedures.  IS&T is working to understand and adjust the acquisition process for MIT customers.  If you have a critical need to upgrade to R2008a at this time, please contact us at vsls-matlab@mit.edu and we will work with you to get R2008a.  Please include the ticket number from your initial purchase for quicker turn around.
