Creating the Spamscreen Folder in Outlook 2003

If you've set up Spamscreen filtering for another IMAP-based email program you use for your MIT email, e.g., Outlook or Eudora (used with IMAP), your Spamscreen folder is already set up.

Note

Note: Everyone with an account created on or after October 4, 2004 will have a Spamscreen folder already created on the main server and will not need to complete the following steps.

Create the Folder

  1. Launch Outlook.
Note: If you have not yet configured Outlook 2003 to read your MIT Mail, see Setting Up Outlook for Use with IMAP.

  2. Highlight/select your Inbox on the mail server from the Folder List that lists your email folders. Make sure you have not selected the local inbox, which is located in the same pane.

  3. Create a new folder called Spamscreen within your Inbox by clicking on Menu > New > Folder.
