Element K

Service Overview:
Web-based computer training is also referred to as on-line learning, or just-in-time training. It consists of modularized training courses, available over the web, anytime of the day or night, 365 days a year. To supplement instructor-led training, IS&T provides web-based training through our partner vendor Element K. For details on hardware requirements, choosing courses, and registration see IS&T Computer Training.

Who is Eligible:
Web-based training is available to the MIT Community and its affiliates only. If you don't have an email address that ends with "mit.edu", then our contract does not allow us to provide you with an account.

How To Obtain:
Send email to: wbt-request@mit.edu

When you request an Element K account, you will be given a username and password that will allow you to access the site for the first time. Please note that we process requests for new accounts on a weekly basis, so it may take up to 7 days for you to be notified that your account is active. When you receive notice that your account is active, you can go directly to the Element K web site. Once you have accessed the site you will be free to change your username and password. Although you will be given the opportunity to choose your own username and password to gain repeated access to the Element K site, we recommend that you DO NOT user your MIT email/Athena username and password on the Element K site. We suggest that you keep the username we assigned you, and create a new password that you use only for this site. The Element K site is secure, however this is an extra precaution to safeguard your privacy.

Note: When registering, you must include your MIT email address (username@mit.edu) in the message that you send (even if you have another non-MIT email account) and both your first name and last name. The vendor will deny access to anyone without a valid MIT email address. Web-based training is available to the MIT Community and its affiliates only.

Price:
