MIT Campuslink Information

Overview

Massachusetts Institute of Technology has contracted with PAETEC's Campuslink Services to provide long distance telephone service for students. While you're on campus, all you need to place direct-dialed calls is a full-service campus phone and your Campuslink Personal Billing Number (PBN). There are no sign-up fees or long waiting periods. Your PBN is ready as soon as you sign up for Campuslink service.

Students may sign up via the web by going to PAETEC's Campuslink Services and clicking "Signup for Service" in the left-hand column. From the University drop-down list, select Mass. Institute of Technology.

Note: Campuslink services cannot be accessed from "campus-only" dorm phones. Dorm phones may be upgraded to full service through Campuslink. The full service includes unlimited local calls, receiving off-campus calls, voice mail, and other standard phone features.

Plans

Rates effective until June 30, 2008.

Standard Plan
One rate -- 6.9 cents per minute, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Alternative Plan
A flat rate of 2.9 cents per minute 24 hours a day, seven days a week for $7.95 per month. You must agree to receive your PAETEC Campuslink bill electronically, via the Web, and to make payments using a credit card.

Directory Assistance: 85 cents per call.

Features:

  • Make international calls and save when you sign up for one low international rate plan. You pay a single rate for international calls no matter when you call. The flat rate varies by country.
  • Your own bill. No hassles with your roommates over the phone bill. Your calls using your PBN from on campus and from off campus locations will be on one bill. If you want, you can even have your bill sent to a different address. It's up to you.
  • Customer service you can count on, plus access to your account information 24 hours a day.
  • Calling Card Feature: When not in your room, use your PBN when calling from on and off campus to virtually anywhere in the United States for 12-cents per minute with a 20-cent-per-call surcharge. Be sure to use direct dial instructions [Adobe Reader required] when you are calling from your room. When you are out of your room, dial the toll free access number (1-800-466-1116) and follow the prompts. The code for MIT is 2500.

Note: A notice is sent out with Campuslink long distance bills reminding students to re-subscribe for the next semester.
