The Preventative Maintenance Program

The Preventative Maintenance Program was created to address the issue of improving computing support for Administrative users and those working in DLCs that rely on enterprise-wide applications.

The goal of the Preventative Maintenance Program is to ensure that a participant's computer is performing in the most efficient, optimal way as possible. By ensuring that hardware and software is up-to-date and working properly, the user will have a more productive and satisfying workday.

In the Preventative Maintenance Program there are two types of appointments or visits:

Initial Assessment

After a DLC decides that they want to participate in the AdminIT Program, an Initial Assessment visit is scheduled.

During the Initial Assessment visit, the following takes place:

  • A thorough evaluation of the user’s computing environment, including an inventory of their PC, monitor, and printers.
  • Complete evaluation of the operating system and applications.
  • Upgrade of the hardware and software (as needed, based on the evaluation).

An Initial Assessment visit typically takes four hours per machine.

Preventative Maintenance

Preventative Maintenance visits for participating DLCs are conducted twice a year. For more information, see the Outline of a Preventative Maintenance Visit.
