FY2008 Desktop Renewal Hardware Standards

Important notes:

  • Monitor replacements will be assessed independent of computers.
  • Cost sharing will continue for laptop deployments during FY2007.

Macintosh Desktop Thresholds:

  • Power Mac G4 desktop Dual (1.25GHz)
  • 512 MB of memory (RAM) or greater
  • 80 GB hard drive
  • DVD/CD-RW (Combo Drive)
  • Mac OS X 10.2.8 or greater
  • 17" Flat Panel (LCD) or Monitor (CRT)

Macintosh Computer Recommendations:

  • Apple 20" IMac Duo Core (2.4HGZ)
  • 2 GB of memory (RAM) as paired 1GB Memory chips to take advantage of the Duo Core.
  • 320 GB hard drive
  • DVD+R DL/DVD+RW/CD-RW (Super Drive)
  • Mac OS X 10.5 or greater

Microsoft Windows Desktop Thresholds:

  • Dell Optiplex Dell PIV (2.8GHz) Gx270/SFF
  • 512 MB of memory (RAM) or greater
  • 40 GB hard drive
  • DVD/CD-RW drive
  • Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2
  • 17" Flat Panel (LCD) or Monitor (CRT)

Microsoft Windows Computer Recommendation:

  • Dell Optiplex GX755 with CPU speed of 2.66 GHz or greater
  • 2 GB of memory (RAM) as paired 1GB Memory chips to take advantage of the Duo Core.
  • 250 GB hard drive
  • DVD+/-RW drive
  • Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2
  • 20" Flat Panel (LCD)
