SnapperMail Enterprise 2.1.1 at MIT
Overview
SnapperMail Enterprise is an email application designed for cell phones and hand-held devices running Palm OS.
You can configure SnapperMail to operate within the MIT email environment, so that you can manage your MIT email
while traveling or away from your usual email application on your desktop or laptop.
SnapperMail Enterprise 2.1.1 is recommended if your cell phone or PDA does not come with, or is not compatible
with VersaMail 2.7 or higher.
Features
SnapperMail Enterprise 2.1.1 supports:
- Sending and receiving email, including attachments, using IMAP.
- Secure connection using SSL and Kerberos authentication.
- SMTP authentication for secure outbound messages.
- Scheduling automatic retrieval and notification of new email.
- Accessing other folders under your INBOX on MIT's
IMAP servers.
- Storing email on your device's memory card.
Known Issues
- MIT does not support SnapperMail
Enterprise as a POP email client.
- The Treo 650 and Tungsten T5, running Palm OS 5.4, are not compatible with Oracle Calendar Sync for Palm 9.0.4
for Macintosh, and cannot synchronize with MIT's TechTime.
Support Statement
IS&T is ramping up its support of Palm OS mobile devices (PDAs
and cell-phone/PDA combinations). Initially, IS&T offers support
of VersaMail and Snappermail, for checking MIT email. See also

Requirements
SnapperMail Enterprise 2.1.1 requires Palm OS 3.5 or higher, and a connection to the Internet (wireless, Bluetooth, cell phone).

How to Obtain
SnapperMail
Enterprise 2.1.1 is available for purchase and download from
the vendor, Snapperfish Limited Corp.
A free, 30-day trial
version of SnapperMail 2.1.1, which includes all of the features
of the Enterprise edition, is also available from the vendor.
