Central Printing: Print to File
Macintosh
- Open the file you wish to send to Central Print Service.
- With a networked postscript printer driver selected, execute
the Print command to open the Print dialog box.
- Make these settings:
- Destination: File
- Choose Save as File from dropdown list
- Format: PostScript
- PostScript Level: Level 2
- Compatible Data Format: Binary
- Font Inclusion: None
- Be sure to save the file with an extension of .ps.

Windows
- Open the file you want to send to Central Print Service.
- Execute the Print command to open the Print dialog box
for a networked PostScript printer.
- Check the Print to file box.

- Click OK to go to the next dialog box.
- In the File name field, type the file name followed by the
.ps extension. Depending on the application
you might also need to enclose the filename and extension in
quotes (e.g., "trees.ps").
- Printer Files (*.prn) is the default for
type. Do not change it.

- Click OK to save this file in PostScript format.
