MITvoip Web Interface: Message Waiting Indicator

Overview

The Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) is the red light on your phone that blinks when you have a new voice mail message waiting. You can turn this feature on or off or set it to activate only when you receive an urgent message.

Setting the MWI

  1. Access your account on the MITvoip Web Interface.

  2. Click the Notification Settings button.
    Result: The Notification page opens.

  3. Click the Activate Notification link.
    Result: The Activate Notification page opens.

  4. Click a radio button in the Notify me through Message Wait Indicator section:
    • To turn off the MWI, select Off.
    • To turn the MWI on for all messages, select Every time I receive a message.
    • To turn the MWI on only for urgent messages, set the notification rule and select If message meets my Notification Rule.

  5. Click the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
    Result: A confirmation of the change is displayed.
