MITvoip Web Interface: Notification Rules

Overview

You can choose to receive notifications only for urgent messages. This feature can be set independently for each of the notification methods. For example, you might want the MWI light to turn on for all messages and to receive a call on your cell phone only when a message is urgent.

This feature works in conjunction with any of the following:

You might notice an option to set a rule for messages from a user-defined list of callers. This feature is not enabled. Instead, use the Filtering Calls feature on the MITvoip Console.

Configuring Notification Rules

  1. Access your account on the MITvoip Web Interface.

  2. Click the Notification Settings button.
    Result: The Notification page opens.

  3. Click the Activate Notification link.
    Result: The Activate Notification page opens.

  4. In the Notify me when section, check the An urgent message arrives box.

  5. To limit a notification method to urgent messages only, click on the If message meets my Notification Rule radio button in one or more of the methods in the My Notification Choices section.

  6. Click the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
    Result: A confirmation of the change is displayed.
