Hours and Technical Specs

Hours of Operation

The Data Warehouse is available seven days a week, except for Saturday afternoon from 6:00-10:00 P.M. when the Warehouse is unavailable during the weekly backup.

Normal user hours

The Warehouse is stable, and no data are being loaded.

8:00 P.M. - 7:00 A.M.

Data loads

Although the Warehouse can be accessed, the data are in an inconsistent state because they are being refreshed.

7:00 A.M. - 8:00 A.M.

Data extract processing

Data are loaded and stable. This is the time designated for other systems to grab extracts from the Warehouse, without significantly affecting end user response time. Users may access the Warehouse during this time, but the response time might be slow.


Technical Specifications

The MIT Data Warehouse machine is a Sun V490's running the Solaris9 operating system with 16Gb memory, 2 x DualCore 1.8GHz CPU, 2 x 146Gb Internal Disks (Mirrored), and SAN Attached Storage. It also runs Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 (Oracle 10gR2).
