Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

I'm ready to tell the world that my homepage exists. How do I spread the word?

Answer:

We recommend the following:

  1. Identify pages where your page should be listed. Write to the webmaster to get a link to your page.
  2. Follow the instructions on listing your URL in the MIT online directory.
  3. Read about how to add your page to the MIT search engine.
  4. List your homepage on the MIT Community Home Page List, maintained by the Student Information Processing Board.
  5. If your site is a department, lab, or center, let the MIT webmasters know so they can update the second-level pages.
