I/T Architecture Group Concerns:

• ITS runs on an NT 4.0 platform

  • NT is not inherently secure
  • transaction development tool (Webstudio) is not secure
    

• ITS development is not under MIT control

  • certificate decoding is done by SAP
  • there is a question about whether Linux will be ready by 1Q2001

Resulting Limitations:

• I/T Architecture Group recommends only non-sensitive data

  • NT is not a fully secure platform
  • HR Employee Self-Service (ESS), etc., should await a future Linux environment

• Only prime shift support

  • secure remote administration is not possible with NT

• Internet Explorer cannot be supported across all platforms

  • MIT Certificates do not work with the Macintosh version of Internet Explorer
