What Was New
- 10/20/00 - Tom's Webpage changed to thomaslin.com.
- 10/6/00 - Updated links section a little. Only a week to ZRave2! Get zyched.. =P
- 10/4/00 - Finally updated my site a little! Minor changes in the humor section and added more pictures to the pics section:) Mit has been in session for a while now.. Rush was great and our house has 17 new freshmen=P Oh and Zrave2 coming up Oct13! Can't stop raving..
- 7/20/00 - Waiting for new kernel to compile.. Sure does take a while on a dinky 200Mhz machine:b So I turned Leene into a GNU/Linux box to serve as the main router, Proxy, DNS, Firewall etc for mom's network:) It seems to be working great and is very stable. I'm hoping that it will be stable enough to continuously provide internet access to my mom's network while I'm gone at MIT without needing any external maintenance. That should keep my mom from needing to call me if there's a problem=) Since I'm on I might as well make a Linux section in my Links page to link some of the helpful sites I used:)
- 7/1/00 - Made an archive of older updates on a separate page to avoid cluttering the main page:) Made some minor changes to Nully's Shrine. Added Kitsumi's Retreat to Friends=)
- 6/28/00 - Made some additions to Nully's Shrine. Now it is linked directly to the main page instead of being a child of the humor page:) Go ahead and send in your creative names:P For some odd reason Netscape4.7 doesn't render the page correctly:/ I checked my code and I don't think it's my fault.. Changed the opening slightly to replace the mathematical symbols with their english analogs. Only IE5.5 was rendering them perfectly:<
- 6/26/00 - We have net! Hooked up a network in my room to connect the desktop, the laptop, and the 2 printers. Btw, their names are Leene, Marle, Relm, and Schala, respectively. If you are wondering where those names come from, they are female characters from SquareSoft RPGs:)
- 6/24/00 - Mom got a new laptop:) I think I'm just about done removing any traces that it came from Toshiba and reinstalling everything the right way;>
- 6/23/00 - So this place is a week old now:) Should be getting a digicam soon, so I'll have more pics up.
- 6/22/00 - Went to my highschool's graduation:) It was good to see all my friends again=) Kinda stinks how the moment I get to see some of them they are leaving.. Oh well have summer to meet with them some more:) I got a new cordless mouse w/wheel and 4 buttons. I'm happy:)
- 6/20/00 - Added the pics section:) More to come later. It stinks being so far away from friends:< Made some additions to You know you go to MIT when..
- 6/19/00 - Added Mitulia to friend's pages:) Streamlined the opening. Should be a little shorter now;) Made some minor additions to A little list and Failed Pickup Lines.
- 6/18/00 - I added some humor to my site=) It's a nice start towards adding content to my site. Some of the lists are a little small, so I'll be beefing them up slowly. This should keep some of you busy till my next update;>
- 6/17/00 - I added that SIPB counter up there in the upper left hand corner and links:) I know I have more friends than that!;> If you are my friend and have a homepage, let me know so I can add you:) I prefer to ask people if I can link their sites before I do, so that section may grow a little slow at first.
- 6/16/00 - So I finally got off my lazy butt and posted my webpage! This has been an interesting experience for me. I decided to code everything using emacs and notepad so I had to read a lot of specifications released by W3C, Netscape, MSDN, etc to make my page beautiful and perfectly compliant. I want to see those WYSIWYG editors do that!;> It was slightly annoying because not only was DHTML not standardized, some of the specifications seemed contradictory:( I finally decided to code up the page to adhere to XHTML 1.0 as much as possible while not sacraficing backwards-compatibility and do the fancy stuff in DHTML (both Netscape's ver and IE's ver) and Javascript 1.2. I avoided frames, and layers (not yet a W3C recommendation). Still lots to do. Check back and watch the nav bar on the left over there fill up with actual content!=) Oh and everyone upgrade to 4.0+ browsers so this page doesn't look hideous;> However, if you upgrade to Netscape6PR1, I wouldn't install over the old version of Netscape. They're rebuilding the core engine so it's not fully complete yet; i.e., it makes my page look ugly;) So far IE5+ is the only browser that I've come across that displays the page to the fullest so use that if you have access to it=)
