ACS Philosophy and Role

Our Mission

We succeed to the extent our efforts improve MIT Education.

Strategies

  • Improving instruction and curriculum directly
  • Providing infrastructure for faculty, students and academic administration
  • Planning and advocating the effective use of instructional technologies
  • Marshalling resources (people, money, space)

    Establishing Priorities

  • Serve many students, rather than few
  • Serve the Core of the MIT curriculum (including General Institute Requirements and large introductory subjects in popular departments) rather than the periphery
  • Seek and reward innovation and creativity
  • Increase technological equity among departments
