Greenhouse Gas Reduction Goals at MIT

MIT has yet to publicly announce ANY carbon reduction targets. As other peer institutions like Yale, Cornell, and University of California agree to emissions reduction targets ranging from 10% by 2020 to Carbon Neutrality, MIT has stood by idly. We students have been very frustrated at our Institution's lack of leadership on this issue, so we have written a letter to President Hockfield and twin UA and GSC resolutions calling for carbon reduction targets at MIT, as well as dialogue on how best to set and achieve these goals. We continue to actively engage the MIT Administration to co-create an effective response to climate change.
