The mobile experience lab within the Design Lab is designing a green village for a site in the north of Italy. The project is supported by the regional government, we have been given the task of presenting the concept for the sustainable village for the future of the region. The main themes addressed by the multi-disciplinary team are architecture, urban planning, energy flows, transportation and intelligent landscape sensors. The group is considering the history of the site, and regional culture as a driving factor in the design of the village. The goal of the project is to make a comprehensive proposal showing how sustainable architecture practice can be applied to a rural village with strong cultural history. The regional agency intends to implement a prototype of the building design proposed by the team.
