Getting around the net-tools locker
-----------------------------------
"The locker has a fresh new look while trying
to maintain the style and simplicity of the old"
There are lots of silly symlinks all over the place.
Ignore most of em.
Where to find stuff:
--------------------
The ones most people are concerned about are libraries
and binaries. They are in :/mit/net-tools/bin
which is magically expaned from /mit/net-tools/arch/<sysname>/bin
How to updated files:
---------------------
If you are installing a new binary, check in /mit/net-tools/arch and
see if the architecture already exisists. If not, create it and
create a "lib" and "bin" directory in it.
Now the tricky part.... Figuring out compatiblitiy
links. In most cases, email me or one of the other people
on net-work and we'll deal.
If you're pretty sure that it works under a set of
architectures, stick it in the "arch/<arch>bin" directory
and make symlinks into each of the individual arcitectures
it is compatible with.
Once it exists, plop the binaries in bin
