Description POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Laboratory for Nuclear Science, to join the Medium Energy Physics Group. There are currently opportunities for participation in ongoing experiments at Bates, Jlab, and the University of Mainz. The Bates opportunity involves use of the new BLAST detector to study nucleon and few nucleon structures. BLAST is a unique facility which will make full use of the power of stored polarized electron beams and polarized internal targets. The JLab and Mainz opportunity involves studies on nucleon structure as probed in parity violation measurements using high energy polarized electron beams, as well as a measurement of the electric form factor of the neutron to large momentum transfers. This would yield the most accurate measurement of the neutron charge distribution, which is currently poorly known. REQUIREMENTS: a Ph.D. in experimental nuclear or particle physics. Please include a publication list and three letters of recommendation with curriculum vitae. 01-0187 Location
