Salary Grade CC Full-time/Part-time F Job Description POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Ocean Engineering, to join the Ocean Acoustics Group. Will become part of an interdisciplinary team of faculty, research staff, and students performing fundamental and applied research associated with the characterization of sonar performance uncertainty due to environmental variability and its mitigation through adaptive oceanographic sampling. Will use emerging sampling technology such as the Autonomous Ocean Sampling Network and acoustic data assimilation. The position also offers the possibility for involvement in other research areas including the development of new bi- and multi-static sonar concepts for seabed mapping and characterization and the development of an independent research agenda. REQUIREMENTS: a Ph.D. and strong background in ocean acoustics and sonar signal processing.
