Description MANAGER FOR DISTANCE EDUCATION, Singapore-MIT Alliance (part-time 50%), to be responsible for the overall development, management, and implementation of technologies associated with all distance education activities for the five SMA programs. Will oversee the administration of the SMA web site; coordinate with technical staff from MIT's Academic Media Production Services group to identify, develop, and modify new or enhanced distance education technologies; participate in the ongoing development or enhancement of distance education classrooms and research interaction rooms; monitor and coordinate all interactions between SMA and all distance education service providers and act as the primary person to manage the interactions between various individuals and faculty concerning their distance education needs; work closely with the Singapore office to evaluate and develop appropriate processes or technologies; and make recommendations on distance education technology improvement and development needs. There will be extensive interaction with the SMA office in Singapore, faculty/students and technical staff from Singapore, AMPS, and other staff in the SMA office. There will be opportunities for international travel. REQUIREMENTS: a bachelor's degree; three to five years' work experience including one to two years' experience in a technology-driven environment; excellent leadership, management, organizational, communication, and international skills; experience building and maintaining good professional relationships; and ability to motivate and manage staff effectively in a teamwork environment. Knowledge of distance education technologies a plus. Ability to work effectively with diverse faculty at MIT and in Singapore important. MIT experience preferred.
