Description POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Laboratory for Nuclear Science, to join the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Group (RHIC) and contribute to the R&D of analysis tools for the very high statistics datasets produced by Phobos and the future Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiments. RHIC participates in the development of the Parallel ROOT framework (PROOF), its integration with Grid technologies, and its applications to the analysis of current data. The work is performed in close collaboration with the ROOT development team. The group is heavily involved in the Phobos experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at the Brookhaven National Laboratory and has begun preparations for the CMS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider currently under construction in Geneva. REQUIREMENTS: a Ph.D. Background in nuclear physics or high energy physics preferred. Solid experience with software development in C++ and network programming required. Experience with Linux clusters, Perl, or Apache a plus. Please include three letters of reference with application material. 02-0836 Location
