Job Description

PROGRAM DIRECTOR/ALUMNI AFFAIRS OFFICER III, Alumni Association-Reunions and Class Events, to manage overall planning of Tech Reunions program including coordination of events; development and implementation of marketing strategy; event registration; class billing/accounts; volunteer recruitment and management; and student and Association staff assignments, training, and management. Additional class-based relational activities include: prereunion events, mini-reunions, Cardinal and Gray activities, Senior Week, and senior dinners. Will also provide direction/guidance for class-based relational activities, including class reunion programs (15 classes annually), mini-reunions, prereunion events, Cardinal and Gray activities, Senior Week, and senior dinners; organize logistical aspects of Tech Reunions; prepare schedule of staff assignments; collaborate with Alumni Activities, President's Office, Housing, Campus Activities, Conference Services, Facilities, and MIT Police to plan and coordinate for commencement activities; work with a team to plan and coordinate Alumni Leadership Conference; and supervise three administrative and two support staff members. REQUIREMENTS: a bachelor's degree and seven to nine years' experience. Management experience required; as is experience working with volunteers, planning and marketing events. and managing budgets. Must have proven success working as a member of a team. Position requires excellent organizational, meeting planning, and negotiation skills; attention to detail; and ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups. Creativity, initiative, tact, and ability to work well and calmly under pressure important. Proficiency with PC platform and standard applications essential, including Microsoft Word, Excel, FileMaker, and PowerPoint. Occasional evening and weekend work required. 02-1022P
