Description STREAMING MEDIA COORDINATOR, Academic Media Production Services (two positions), to maintain, operate, and oversee digital media services for the afternoon/evening shift. Will manage students, freelancers, and others; understand and operate all facilities; work closely with others in all aspects of digital media acquisition, production, and delivery; participate in team efforts to author content, conduct live encoding and webcasts, perform quality assurance checks, troubleshoot, and track quality control issues; maintain workstations, video production equipment and other hardware; develop operating procedures; continuously review benchmarking and best practices; and handle other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: familiarity with current software and hardware technologies including Windows NT, Windows 2000, SMIL, RTSP, MMS, PNM, and HTTP; and experience in the production of rich media content, from the acquisition stage to final delivery and encompassing the operation of videotape decks of all kinds, video capture and encoding technologies (Premiere, WindowsMedia Technologies, Quicktime, RealNetworks, Osprey, Matrox RT2000/2500, Optibase, etc), delivery formats (streaming servers, http servers, CDrom production, etc.), and standard file transfer systems. Must have excellent problem solving, organizational, and time management skills and be able to work with minimal supervision. Experience with the following desirable: Darwin Streaming Server; video editing, instructional design, IP videoconferencing equipment and tools, and DVD authoring software; Java, JavaScript, Perl, csh or ASP scripting; computer graphics; Macromedia Flash authoring; database systems; XML, SMIL, HTML+TIME; Unix (AIX preferred); Apache Web Server; video production standards and audio/video diagnostic and monitoring equipment (waveform monitor, vectorscope, etc.). 02-1041N Location
