Job Description

TECHNICAL ASSISTANT, Biology, to perform research on the formation of neuronal connections using the eye of the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster as a molecular genetic system. This will involve isolation and characterization of mutants, DNA cloning and subcloning, histology, and light and confocal microscopy. Other duties include ordering equipment and supplies, maintaining fly stocks, and organizing laboratory. REQUIREMENTS: a B.S. in biology or related area; an understanding of basic molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry; and at least two years of biology laboratory experience. 02-1054
