Description TECHNICAL ASSISTANT, Biological Engineering Division, to assist in the creation of novel tools for studying genetic change in mammals using cutting edge bioengineering technology. The work will primarily involve direct participation in genetic engineering research (from DNA to mammals) in a coordinated effort with several other top researchers. REQUIREMENTS: a bachelor's degree in the chemical or biological sciences/engineering and at least one course in genetics and/or molecular biology and a laboratory course (or laboratory experience) in biological/chemical sciences. Experience in general laboratory techniques, excellent notebook skills, and the ability to work independently required. Must be able to work well with others as part of a research team. Should have outstanding organizational skills and a proactive approach to research. Although experience with DNA manipulation, transgenic mouse experiments, and/or mammalian cell culture is highly desirable, evidence of quick learning and high motivation can substitute.
