Description DISTANCE EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST, Academic Media Production Services, to be responsible for technical operations in the TRIAD distance education facility, including three, level-five smart classrooms fully enabled for delivery of synchronous DE classes via IP or ISDN; providing live switching and in-room support of classes being simultaneously tape recorded and delivered to far end site(s); maintaining video, audio, and computer equipment; and troubleshooting video cameras, projectors, format record decks, microphones, audio mixing equipment and matrices, PCs, etc.. Will also act as distance education technician for DE and VC rooms, and handle videoconferencing bridge operation and field/on-location video shoots. REQUIREMENTS: a minimum of three years' video production experience; thorough knowledge of a variety of video and video conferencing technology including codecs, room control systems, videoconferencing bridges, video switchers, and automated camera systems; comfort working with current and cutting edge technologies and basic networking setups; ability to repair, diagnose, and provide for repair of and/or upgrade of equipment; a firm grasp of video, audio, and control signal flow; and ability to understand schematics and as-builts for each room. Strong skills in the creation of graphics and multimedia material preferred. Must be familiar with both Macintosh and Windows platforms. Should be able to provide training to contractors on the correct procedures for operating rooms. Bachelor's degree preferred. Availability and interest in a flexible work schedule including some evening and weekends highly desirable. 02-1099GD Location
