Job Description

FINANCIAL ANALYST II FOR RESEARCH, Sloan School of Management, to be responsible for oversight and reconciliation of research and academic accounts and activities. Will be responsible for detailed preparation of complex revenue and expense budgeting/analyses; oversight of account management reports, forecasting year end results, ad hoc financial analyses, and revenue collection; providing relevant, timely, and accurate financial reports, proposals, and budgets; controlling and monitoring financial activities and allocation of resources; complying with MIT and government audit criteria; mentoring and training staff; proactively using the SAP, Data Warehouse, COEUS and MITSIS environments to produce reports and improve levels of competency; and developing and enhancing management information systems. REQUIREMENTS: a master's degree in business or equivalent analytical area of expertise; at least five to ten years of experience in financial analyses or related field; comprehensive knowledge of a complex budgeting unit having a large number of faculty and students across a large number of degree and nondegree granting initiatives and with multiple sources of funding; flexibility; and an interest in working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where state of the art or best practice techniques and models are developed and employed. Knowledge and understanding of the unit's programs, long range plans, needs, and point of view required. Customer service orientation required. Advanced working knowledge of Lotus needed, with emphasis on spreadsheet development. Must have demonstrated superior written and oral communication skills, a customer service orientation, and team building skills. SAP/Data Warehouse training a plus. 02-1156P
