Job Description

PRODUCTION MANAGER, OpenCourseWare, to oversee the entire OCW web site production process--including planning, scheduling, and budgeting--in close collaboration with Publication Production Director and other OCW senior managers; create and modify web content; coordinate quality assurance cycle; and publish OCW course web sites. Will manage a team of up to five multimedia/web production specialists. REQUIREMENTS: a bachelor's degree or higher; five years' experience; proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables within budgetary and scheduling requirements against strict deadlines; a track record of four-plus years' web publication management and/or project management experience; ability to manage and motivate production staff and perform hands-on production work; and ability to understand and develop productive work relationships and maintain high design and production quality standards, content integrity, and intellectual property attribution. Comprehensive technical knowledge/experience with major platforms (Windows, Macintosh, Unix) and browsers (Internet Explorer and Netscape) necessary. Knowledge of web accessibility standards; HTML, including Cascading Style Sheets; content management systems; PhotoShop; Acrobat; and Dreamweaver required. MS Office, Visio, and version control software experience needed. Excellent oral and written communications skills important. Seek self-motivated professional who is able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be well organized and punctual with meticulous attention to detail and follow-through. Should possess broad knowledge of instructional/educational technologies, distance learning, and related applications. Experience working with faculty in higher education environment a plus.
