Job Description

MULTIMEDIA PRODUCTION SPECIALIST, OpenCourseWare (two positions), to collect, edit, tag, and integrate content for OCW's on-line course sites. Will create and maintain web sites; modify course content; create/modify and implement web page templates; track tasks; produce and edit PDF documents; produce, edit, and convert documents from various file formats; tag content with metadata; participate in quality assurance testing; work with others to obtain, produce, and edit course materials; and prepare documentation. REQUIREMENTS: a bachelor's degree or higher; at least three years' experience in multimedia production; three or more years' experience with PhotoShop, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, an OCR application, and version control software such as CVS or RCS; solid knowledge of HTML and Cascading Style Sheets; two years' experience producing web content; and experience creating and working with digital video and audio in web-based formats and with workflow and document lifecycle in multimedia production process. Experience working with a content management system preferred. Must have experience modifying content for the Web. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be well organized, and show meticulous attention to detail. Should be able to work both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team. Ability to work in a fast paced, delivery-driven, high-volume production environment necessary. General knowledge of instructional/educational technologies, distance learning, and related applications needed. Experience working with faculty in a higher education environment a plus. Must be able to provide URLs of live sites or a portfolio for review. Application deadline: 12/16/02. Salary Range: $40-50K. 02-1166
