Job Description

FACULTY LIAISON, OpenCourseWare (two positions), to manage OCW's relationships with academic departments, serving as primary interface between OCW and faculty. Will lead teams working with departments and faculty members to collect, organize, convert, and integrate course materials into OCW publishing environment. REQUIREMENTS: a bachelor's degree or higher; three to five years' related experience; proven ability to manage, schedule, and budget in complex, dynamic environment; experience with project management and process workflow; experience working with faculty and/or in academic environments; and ability to lead and work in collaborative team environment to achieve goals. Must be well organized and show meticulous attention to detail. Must posses excellent oral and written communications skills; good consulting, facilitating, and leadership skills; and ability to understand and develop productive working relationships. Ability to influence and resolve conflicts important; as is ability to quickly learn high-level subject matter trends and principles to facilitate course material translation. Experience with Microsoft Office tools; working knowledge of web development tools; familiarity with educational technology trends, applications, and implementations; and some general knowledge of XML, HTML, Java, databases, and web servers needed. Proficiency with database and content management technologies highly desirable. Experience with on-line initiatives and content management systems and/or learning management systems desirable. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Project, file conversion to PDF and HTML formats, and version control software required. Application deadline: 12/16/02. 02-1168
